Pines End Natural Coloreds Pines End Natural Coloreds started when Dylan Nohner purchased a group of registered Rambouillets from Joel Ream, then acquired the Champion Natural Colored Ram at the 2006 Minnesota State Fair (bred by John Merlau) to serve as a stud ram. The first lamb crop resulted in 60% black lambs and the Natural Colored flock began. From there, Dylan bought three ewes from Tor Sorensen of Southwest Sheep Company, which would become the foundation ewes for much of Pines End's future success. This purchase was a catalyst for the passion and excitement that Dylan has for the Natural Colored industry. He quickly started attending national shows and sales and the growth of the Pines End flock was explosive. In 2010, Dylan received the exciting news that he had the opportunity to purchase half of the Southwest Sheep Company flock. He was humbled and appreciative for the opportunity to bring the SWSC flock to Minnesota and integrate them in the breeding program. Dylan's son Jerome was born in December 2010 and the next generation of Pines End began. In 2013, Wolf Brothers and Pines End were given the opportunity to each purchase half of the Homestead Farms flock. The Homestead genetics blasted size and style into the ewe base and were an exciting addition. In January of 2014, Dylan's daughter Mikella was born into the Pines End family. We here at Pines End Natural Coloreds are very committed to the sheep industry and the Natural Colored breed. We strive to produce stylish sheep that are structurally correct, heavy boned, with big, wide hips and quality fleeces. The barn is always open for visitors!
